Tilting at Windmills in HALNAKER

“Hunger is the best sauce in the world” - Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, Don Quixote

Halnaker has always been one of these 1 day trip destinations we wanted to go for ages and timing it couldn't be more perfect.

Right the day before the surprising(but expected) December lockdown, we decided to grab our camera equipment, some homemade food and just jump straight in the car heading down to West Sussex. After having parked, it's slightly tricky to find the entrance to the magical tunnel of trees below but, if you search on maps "Mill lane", it'll point you in the right direction for the public footpath that leads up to the Windmill.

In just 20 mins, we got to the top with our lunchboxes and sat down on the old Windmill ruins while enjoying a bit of solitude and waiting for a beautiful sunset.

Tip: we recommend travelling to Halnaker either during Autumn(the leaves of the tunnel would have fantastic red/orange/brown colours) or in Summer(the crops nearby the Windmill would be almost ready to be harvested).
